Curiosidades sobre Londres / Curiosities about London

Vou falar algumas curiosidades que despertaram a minha atenção durante esses anos em Londres:

TRANSPORTES / TRANSPORTS:

• A Inglaterra é um País que tudo o que se faz lá é totalmente ao contrario do que o resto do "mundo".
• England is a country which everything seems to be the opposite from the rest of the world.

• O volante dos automóveis são do lado direito e por incrível que pareça, eu achei mais fácil de dirigir...rsrs
• The drivers drive your car from the right of you vehicle and believe-me I found this easier then the left. 
• Nas estradas também a pista mais rápida é sempre a da direita
• On the motorways the fast side is on the right
• Uma coisa muito interessante que quando queremos parar o carro nas ruas podemos parar de qualquer sentido. (não necessariamente obedecendo a mão da rua). Isto também facilita a vida do motorista.
• One thing which is very interest is that you could park your car wherever way (direction) you want. Does not matter what side. This make it easier to park your car.

• O Onibus também era bem interessante, muitas vezes os passageiros podiam entrar de uma vez só e o cobrador vinha cobrando ao longo do trajeto. (Isto também servia nos trens que corriam suspensos.
• The bus was also very interested because all passengers used to go first (for not loosing time) then the ticket officer used to cherge the customers inside the bus.

• O taxi mais confiável em Londressão os famosos Black Cabs, nos quais os taxistas tendem a se preparar por aproximadamente 3 anos, pois eles tem que saber os nomes de quase todas as ruas da cidade e como chegar até elas. 
• The black cabs are tjhe most reliable way to get wherever you want to go because to become a taxi driver you will need to study at least 3 years memorizing all the names of the roads and how to get in there.

• Uma coisa muita prática na estrutura das ruas de Londres é que em varios cruzamentos ao invés de faróis eles colocam as famosas rotatórias e TODOS respeitam demais. A Lei diz: Sempre da passagem para o automóvel que vão de sua esquerda!!!!! (e funciona muito!!!)
• Another road structure which is ver functional is instead of traffic lights they use the famous roundabout and EVERYONE really respect those. The law says: you have to give preference for the vehicle coming at your left!!! (belive me It works!!!)

• Os cidadãos tem muitos direitos la e são bem respeitados pelos motoristas. Existe as zebra crossing, nas quais quando nós pisamos nela os motoristas todos param para você atravessar. è muito legal!!!
• The citizens living in London are very respectable by the drivers. They have the zebra crossings which means they (walkers) have the preference to cross. It is very nice!!!!

•   Todas as calçadas e cruzamentos existe o rebaixamento das guias e no chão vocês sempre verão as palavras: look left or look right.
• Every cross roads the pavement is low (for the wheel chair) and is written on the roads either "look left" or "look right".

                                                  

• A última coisa que falarei sobre as ruas de Londres é sobre as bicicletas. Durante todos os anos que vivi pedalando nas ruas de Londres, é impressionante o respeito que os motoristas tem com você. Muitas vezes, aliás na maioria das vezes dividimos as faixas com os ônibus. O governo em 2012 elaborou um plano de ciclofaixas para facilitar o transporte de bicicletas, vejam o vídeo no final desta matéria!!
• The last thing i will talk about the streets of London is about bicycles. During all the years I have lived and cucling the streets of London, it's amazing the respect that the drivers have with you. Often, in fact most of the time we share the lanes with the buses. The government in 2012 drafted a plan lanes to facilitate the transport of bicycles, see the video at the end of this matter !!

 VIOLÊNCIA:

• Vou falar pra vocês que Londres não é uma cidade muito segura. A marginalidade, principalmente entre os jovens é muito alta. Nunca tinha sido assaltado aqui no Brasil, mas logo no terceiro ano em londres fui "roubado e ferido" por adolescentes que roubaram meu celular. (venho confessar que eu vacilei, pois tinha bebido um pouco e estava falando no telefone num bairro muito perigoso na noite- Camberwell)
• London is a city which is not much secure at all.The criminality is quite high, mainly whithin the teenagers. I never been robed in Brasil but in my fourth year in London I was taken by some youngster who robed my mobile. Unfortunately i face them so I ending up taken few kicks at my head. (It was a bit of my fault though as i was a bit drunk and talking with my mobile in the dodge neighborhood.
• Geralmente as armas que eles mais utilizam nos crimes são as facas.
• The most common crimes they use the knifes as a weapon. 

• Um aspecto interessante da polícia de Londres é que eles fazem todo o mapeamento dos crimes e alerta a população quais as áreas mais perigosos e qual o tipo de criminalidade que acontece nelas.

• One aspect which is very curious is that the police in England does all the crime map describing what áreas are more dangerous and what type of crimes are happening in which area.

GERAIS / GENERAL

• Antigamente todos os pubs ficavam abertos somente até as 23. Depois saiu uma lei na qual o dono do estabelecimento podria ter um alvará para ficar aberto até tarde.
• A few years back all the pubs must be closed by 11pm. After one law was allowing them to stay open till late as long as they acquire one license for that. 
• A praia dos Ingleses na maioria das vezes chega ser os Parques nos quais todos nós vamos tomar um sol. Grande parte das mulheres fazem top less. 
•  For the most of people living in London the beach is around the parks to relax and taking some sunshine at summer. A lot of women does top less.

• O Governo da Inglaterra incentiva muito o esporte, principalmente o Tennis, pois nas maiorias dos parques existem quadras para a sua população local jogar.  Uma coisa muito interessante é que em londres tem uma associação, nas quais os próprios jogadores ligam para as pessoas da liga para marcarem seus jogos e depois colocam o resultado no website e a organização vai montando o ranking. Tudo isso pagando uma taxa mensal (muito barata).

• The government have always invested heavily to ensure all the people could play at majority of the parks sports, such as, basketball, football and tennis. On thing that also is very interested is that they have an association in London that organize matches throughout London and the members organising the matrches themselfs!!! Than after the match the players posts the results on the website and the organisers make the ranking. All this paying a membership fee hich was quite cheap as we don´t need to pay for some of the courts.

• SINUCA NOS BARES DE LONDRES...Caso você esta sozinho e não tem ninguém para jogar sinuca com você, basta você ter alguimas moedas para jogar. Emqualquer bar/pub que você for quem ganha uma partida de sinuca permanece na mesa e o próximo vai desafia-lo, portanto não precisa sair com um minimo de pessoas para jogar. 
• Playing Pool at the bars in London...if you do not have company to play with all bars in London you only need a coin to play because who wins the game stays at the table.

• Vou dizer algo não muito agradável. Londres, por ser uma cidade muito antiga a concentração de camundongos e ratos é muito grande. Quando você for andar de metro observe nos trilhos os ratinhos passando para la e para ca. Um dos problemas também é que muitas casas são interligadas um nas outras e quase toda a tubulação também é e isto faz com que se uma casa tiver camundongos eles vão migrando de casa em casa. Eu pessoalmente tive 2 experinências muito ruins e traumatizantes com relação a isso. 
• I will say something not much pleasureful. London as is a very "old" city in some areas you will find a lot of mice and rats. Even when you go to take the underground (tube) if you look at the trails you will find some of our friends walking by. There are a very common situations that happens in the houses: for the fact they are attached to which other most of the times, the tubes are linked also and if one house have mice and rats they will go to the others too. I had two really bad experience with them and it is awful!!!!

                                 

• Hoje estive doente e quando fiz alguns exames constatou que eu tenho uma pedrinha na uretra, sim, muita dorrr. Fiz um plano que começou ontem a vigorar, mas infelizmente o corretor me enganou falando que não tinha nenhuma carência (Tony Barros, que trabalha na companhia Círculo de Saúde). Nossa como eu senti saudades de Londres onde qualquer pessoa pode entrar em qualquer hospital e ser tratada DIGNAMENTE pelos médicos de plantão. Tudo bem que demora um pouco, mas ao menos não tyemos a humilhação de alguém chegar pra você e dizer que seu plano esta com uma carência e só poderá operar em 2011!!!!!!!
• Today I was feeling a bit sick with some pains in my "genitals" then I went to hospital and after few exams they discovered that I had a stone in my urethra tube. I had a health plan that started yesterday but as I spoke to the broker health, he lied to me saying I don´t have any "carência"/ "rights" for "hospitalization"(his name is Tony Barros from Circulo de Saúde company) but in fact I had meaning that I won´t be able to take the stone off from my health plan. Today i really missed London as any one could just walk by any hospital and received a fair treatment for whatever you had. You will never be humiliated by the hospital´s staff saying that you will only be able to do this "surgery" at 2011!!!!!!!!.

                                                                 
Hoje me lembrei de um episódio que quando eu estava sozinho na casa em que eu morava, estava lavando louça, mas de-repente um copo caiu e no reflexo eu coloquei o pé para apoiar, mas lógico que acabei cortando. A dor era tanto que eu nçao conseguia mexer o meu pé e estava sangrando muito, bom não tive dúvidas, lioguei para 911 (ambulância).

Quando a ambulância chegou eu fiquei sabendo (conversando com os paramçedicos) é que la as ambulâncias são divididas por setores, do tipo: sessão de cortes e batidas, depois vem quebras e cortes profundos; depois os mais sérios como ataque do coração etc. Achei isto o máximo!!!!

Today I just remembered once I was alone at my old place washing the dishes and suddenly a glass felt over the floor and my reflexion was to put my bare foot to try avoid breaking the glass, but unfortunately I cut my left foot then i called the ambulkance.

The funny thing was that in London or UK they have a lot of divisions for diferents kinds of injuries, such as, small cuts; bruises;breaking bones and then more serius stuff such as Heart Attack and so on!!! I find this amazing!!!
